Full Stack Engineer (React Native/Node.js)

We are looking for AI-native Full Stack Engineer (React Native/Node.js). We have a live mobile product in the polish/ beta/store-release phase. The scaffolding exists. The work is: make the existing app correct, match design, keep the AI coach reliable, and ship through TestFlight and Google Play. You will work across React Native(Expo) and Node(NestJS). You will also touch the AI coach from the client and API-contract side (strict request bodies, server-owned conversation history, entitlements gating access). A separate Python service exists behind that coach; being able to open it and land a small fix is a plus, not a requirement. We want people who have inherited a messy production app and improved it. How we hire We send a short build task (hard cap 4 hours). You record a Loom of how you actually work. If that looks right, we do one 30-minute call about your Loom and your repo. That is the whole process.

Requirements

3+ years shipping TypeScript in production, including React Native;
Production Node/TypeScript API work (NestJS is a plus);
At least one app you personally helped ship or update on App Store and Google Play(TestFlight/internal track counts if you owned the upload and store setup);
Evidence you have worked on an existing product. Portfolios that are only 0 to 1 MVPs will not pass;
Daily AI coding tools(Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or equivalent);
Comfortable owning a bug that cuts across mobile+API.

Nice to have

Expo (Router, EAS Build/Submit/Update, dev clients);
AWS Cognito, JWT, TestFlight OAuth quirks;
RevenueCat+store products, sandbox, restore, webhooks;
Sanity and/or Pinecone;
Grafana/Loki/OpenTelemetry or similar;
Apple HealthKit/Health Connect and store privacy strings;
You have opened a Python/FastAPI service to fix a contract, validation, or logging bug.

Scope of work

Fix and harden existing flows: onboarding, session lock/next session, challenges, paywall/restore, coach chat;
Own a change through device testing;
Ship builds: EAS/TestFlight/Play internal (later production);
Work from Figma against an existing design system;
Use Claude/Codex/Cursor (or equivalent) daily - we will ask you to show it, not describe it;
Debug subscription and identity issues across the app, RevenueCat (or similar), and webhooks;
Self-test before QA sees the build.
